SOPA Drama: Google, Facebook Oppose Stop Online Piracy Act in Congress
SOPA is trending as Congress debates an Internet piracy bill that is now generating opposition from some giants of the Web. Introduced in October with a wave of support from content creators large and small, the Stop Online Piracy Act is designed to drive copyright-infringing websites off of the Internet. But Google, Facebook, Twitter, and Zynga, among others, say the bill's crackdown provisions are too broad and that it could actually stifle innovation and investment on the Web. The measure is before the House Judiciary Committee this week and is ultimately expected to pass. A similar bill has already cleared the Senate, which means the piracy crackdown could become law later this year.

Rumpelstiltskin

Hello, I am the woman in this YouTube, seen protesting Rice from the audience. That day there was a whole group of us together: World Can't Wait, Stanford Says No To War, Code Pink. I am with World Can't Wait. The war criminals want a safe return to legitimacy, only public protest and rejection disrupts that. All of us were demanding to speak the truth about Rice as a war criminal (and the torture program was only one facet of her crimes). It is heartening to read so many comments of support, and if you'd like to talk more, please write me at sf@worldcantwait.org or check out www.worldcantwait.org I also want to comment back about some of the comments: First: Rice should be protested because of her war crimes and crimes against humanity --NOT for being a woman, or African-American. To writers of comments using ugly, racist and/or woman hating names against Rice -- and also to everyone else reading them: I ask you to think: Isn't hatred against Black people and women exactly the type of "thinking" that actually supports, and feeds, the existing power system -- which creates the wars for empire, and imperialist war criminals, that we oppose? Kim Kardashian Files For Divorce
Hey Everyone I am Diana Madison for Hollyscoop. It's only been 72 days and Kim Kardashian is headed to splitsville from her husband Kris Humphries. According to reports, Kim is set to file for divorce today and she will not seek an annulment. Kim is set to cite "irreconcilable differences." We're told the date of separation is listed as today, Oct. 31, 2011. As we first reported, the couple has a prenuptial agreement ... pretty sure Kris Jenner made sure of that. Rumors of a split had been swirling for some time and the two were spotted out to dinner earlier this week ... looking less than pleased with one another. Kim Kardashian flew solo as hostess for Saturday's Midori Green Halloween bash at LAVO in Las Vegas this past weekend. When asked where her huband was, kim replied "Oh, he's in Minnesota." She added of her basketballer man, currently out of work due to the NBA lockout: "It's always tough when you're apart. But we do what we can to try and spend time together and make that time for each other." There were also rumors that this marriage was a sham from the beginning as Kim allegedly hired kris humprhies to play the role of her husband on her reality tv show. Now Kris is definitely out of a job.
